Enterprise Trade and Investment Minister, Jonathan Bell has announced a combined investment of over £3million by 17 Fermanagh and Omagh based businesses which will create 74 new jobs.
Making the announcement in Enniskillen, and welcoming the commitment of the companies Jonathan Bell said: “This is a significant investment of over £3million by 17 companies who by doing so are committing to both their future and the sustained business growth of the local area.
“The overall investments include plans to create 74 new jobs across a broad range of roles and industries from sales and design to manufacturing and ICT. Once in place these jobs will contribute over £1.5million per annum in annual salaries to both the Fermanagh and Omagh local economy and Northern Ireland as a whole.”
Invest NI has offered £518,385 to support the growth of the businesses, all of which are based within the Fermanagh & Omagh Council area.
The Minister added “The support by Invest Northern Ireland further builds on that already offered to companies in this region to create new jobs, undertake R&D and explore new business in export markets. As a result of this focus, over the last four years, Invest NI support has helped to secure £88million of investment in the Fermanagh and Omagh District Council area and enabled nearly 440 businesses to bring forward their growth plans.
“The role of the private sector in building our economy cannot be understated and building a strong business base here takes not just ambitious and talented entrepreneurs, but also requires a strong support network. To create a robust economy built on a strong private sector, we must work together to provide the platform businesses need to succeed. My Department, along with Invest NI, will continue to work with local stakeholders and entrepreneurs to encourage further growth in this region and across Northern Ireland.”
Invest NI’s R&D support is part funded by ERDF under the EU Investment for Growth and Jobs Programme 2014-2020.
